Norwalk
Douglas asked:

I was outside firing my Wall-Mart bought Crossman Air Rifle when my neighbor began to yell at me that such a thing was illegal in Norwalk, CT where I live, and that firing it was the same as discharging a pistol. I don’t believe this, as the laws just don’t seem to read this way at all. Is there some conclusive answer someone can give me? was I in the wrong?

Your neighbor is correct it is illegal to discharge an air gun within city limits.

The best thing to fire in safe direction so he has nothing to hold against you are well within city limits then you are well within your within your local sheriffs office and ask them if your neighbor to fire in safe direction.
